Beautiful day out with light breeze. Sunny about 65*. Went out with a few buddy's.
Landed this PIG. For tgis lake, these are far and few between.

August 11, 2013. Evening 5-7:30pm. Typical summer conditions with cool mornings and bright sunny day with light chop/wind.
Worked shaded side of the islands (right of ramp, then left of ramp). First time in boat, but no depth finder rigged yet.
About 7 LMBs, one about 4-5lbs, broke off after seeing on brush pile.
Most bites on drop shot near wood structure. No bites on flipping craw. Tried Strike King Series 5 around end of island points, one small LMB on crankbait. tough to figure out contour of point without depth finder.
Would use a senko or similar next time around wood structure, as well as dropshot, maybe go lighter on flippin weight for slower retrieve. Will also try flippin a gluide bait to get erratic fall.

Technology has helped anglers tremendously over the years. Weather it be fish finders, underwater cameras or the tech that goes into creating top notch rod and reels. But more recently, there have been a lot of fishing apps coming out that are extremely powerful tools for all anglers. There are apps that provide solunar tables, bass fishing forecasts, help identify fish and teach you how to tie knots. The team at US Fish Finder has also created our own fishing log app to help anglers keep track of their trips and catches in a simple to use interface. The Fish Nuggets App automatically captures location and weather for your catch while you just need to enter the species. The app is currently available as a beta release so make sure to check it out.
