The Contra Costa Canal is a part of the Bureau of Reclamation's Central Valley Project (CVP) located in California. The canal diverts Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta water and sends the water as far as Martinez, California in Central Contra Costa County. The canal is over 47 miles long and the water has been used for both agricultural and municipal purposes. A portion of the canal's right of way has been developed as the Contra Costa Canal Regional Trail, a biking and walking trail, and is managed by the East Bay Regional Park District.
